A flat screen moniter is not the same thing as a flat panel moniter. While a flat panel moniter is a thin LCD, a flat screen moniter is actually a CRT moniter. The flat screen refers only to the screen, and not the plastic box that the screen is in. A CRT moniter traditionally has a slightly rounded surface, whereas a flat screen CRT has a flat screen and can give you a better picture. But it won't be as good a picture as a flat panel moniter.
